Canine Physical Therapy
Canine physical therapy is an extremely important aspect of treatment in veterinary medicine to ensure the best care and greatest possible outcome, especially for musculoskeletal, neurologic and surgical conditions.
The course will cover the basic anatomy of the dog as it relates to physical therapy. There will be live dogs for hands-on techniques and the lab portion will constitute orthopedic and neurologic evaluation of the dog, as well as surface anatomy and palpation. We will also have advanced instruction covering the topics of canine rehabilitation and manual therapy for the sporting dog. Hands-on skills will also be demonstrated and practiced on live dogs.
